Deep in the arid North Country of Kenya; situated across the Great North Road, is Shaba National reserve which forms part of a trio of reserves quite different from the ones found in Kenya. Shaba takes its name from Mt. Shaba (1525 meters), a volcanic mountain that became extinct around 5,000 years ago and lies on the border of the reserve.

In the middle of this desert of Volcanic earth lies Sarova Shaba Game Lodge! Built in an oasis around the natural terrain of this breathtaking volcanic desert, the Lodge is attractively laid out with chalet style rooms overlooking the Uaso Nyiro River. Natural spring water has been harnessed to ribbon its way in and out, all around the property creating a beautiful landscape. Coupled with the large free-form swimming pool that flows around the lush gardens and tall trees, all this refreshing water lends an almost magical feel to this natural oasis. The itinerary:

Day 1: Saturday, 12th February, 2011
Depart Nairobi 7a.m in the morning to arrive into Shaba for lunch. Spend the afternoon by the pool of take or take an afternoon siesta before the mid-afternoon game drive at 3.30p.m until dusk. Romance will fill the air in the evening with a 3 course candlelit bush dinner for you and your loved one!

Day 2: Sunday, 13th February, 2011
Start day with an early morning game drive. Once we get back a Champagne breakfast awaits you at the lodge! After breakfast soak up the spectacular views of Shaba, take a swim or simply just relax until noon when we will depart for Nairobi. Upon request we can make a stop along the way at the famous Trout Tree restaurant for lunch at your own cost. This restaurant is built in a Fig Tree and the main dish on the menu is Trout fish which you can catch fresh from their very own fish farm!

• Transport from Nairobi return in either our 8-Seater Safari tour van or our 22-Seater luxury AC coach.
